The other side
2017
The other side..... My family is originally from Friesland, I have good memories of the pasturing of the cows. When I stayed in Friesland during the summer holidays, I was allowed to move the cows with my niece. This meant that they were taken from the meadow to the barn to milk the "ladies". This was not without a struggle. This stubborn cow first had other plans before she let herself being milked. She decided to look at the world from another angel.

Acanthus
2007Since 2006, Lelystad inspired me to nature approach. Acanthus grows along the water in the months of May to late autumn. This beautiful but terribly danger flower, has repeatedly invited me to paint. The space in the fields and the water gives it floral artistry that I wanted to translate. Painting gives less trancience but again the beauty of the time when this plant blooms.
